I had to share with you my new creation. I had been wanting to make a new bag for quite sometime...Sunday night was the night. It was just one of those nights where everything goes the way you envisioned...the pattern worked out great, I had enough material, found the perfect buttons, my sewing machine didn't jam...things were good. I have been looking around this Etsy site and was inspired by the Market Bag...I loved the shape and size (I'm a sucker for big bags). I spread out my large sheet of paper and took my blue crayola crayon and started drawing...this is the design I came up with.
The inside of the bag is lined with the same gray material on the outside. There are no pockets as this was rather a trial bag. I think I will probably add one pocket on the inside and use a patterned material (Amy Butler anyone?). There is a tiny mother of pearl button on the front where the front is gathered.
Thank you for letting me share!!!

soooo cute, wonderful job!!!! It looks pretty complicated - did you use a pattern?
I LOVE this. Love the idea of a printed fabric pocket on the side. So glad to have you sharing on the blog! I'm so inspired by all the things Bess shares (she brags about you)... now I'll get to see for myself! If you took pics or make another one, feel free to share steps and pics... I'd love to see how something like this goes together. I think something like this is out of my league, but I'd love to try!!
Oh man, girl. Sign me up for one. Or 2. Can you have too many?? You rock.
Thank you, thank you! I made my own pattern and it was pretty easy actually...can't wait to make more. If I make another on and it goes smooth...I might do a tutorial and pattern...we'll see.
