Auction

Sweet Auntie Ang asked me to help with an art auction fundraiser for the school where her son spends some time. I just couldn't make the paintbrush work for me in the weeks leading up to the event, so I went with textiles and sharpie markers.

First I made a pin cushion and couched it in a margarita glass. I don't drink margaritas (dang it) so these glasses just collect dust and I thought it would be nice to honor the pins (also since I am always misplacing my pin cushion). I worry I didn't stuff it enough, but I hope someone can use it.

Then I went with a pinwheel tea cozy. There is bright green stitching around the wheel, but it didn't show up enough, like it did in my head. The inside is a funky fabric whose destination I could never decide on. For now, I think it'll keep some tea pots warm.

Finally I tried to draw another sign language chart for a baby's room. I went with a different template than usual, and I was not as pleased. I almost didn't donate it and just chunked it in the recycling. I'll keep tweaking that pattern though...

All of them were fun to do and I'm glad Ang asked for donations.
What all are you people working on? And with the wise words of Anna Maria Horner, if you are not working on anything, please explain yourself.
